A massive cloud of dust from the Sahara Desert arrived in the North Carolina mountains as it traveled across the Atlantic Ocean. The phenomenon happens every year but the 2020 version is especially large and imposing, However the act of Mother Nature created some memorable moments captured by some of Somersby Park residents. There’s something special about January in Somersby Park. We love to hike our trails, stroll the lonely roads and take in the natural stark beauty this time of year offers. Jump Off Rock is just above us so the views are clear and beautiful.
