Spring in the Mountains

Every day new sights appear as Spring blooms across Western North Carolina.

Spring in the Mountains

Preserving Beauty

Somersby Park residents represented half of the attendants during Laurel Park’s “Community Eco-Enviro Workshop” presented by Steve Pettis of the NC Extension Service.  The community learned about sustainable gardening practices, implementing wildfire-resistant landscaping and helping erosion control. Future meetings are scheduled as we continue to enhance our natural beauty and continue to enjoy living in the Western North Carolina mountains.

Community Workshop

Somersby Park is helping sponsor a free class offered in Laurel Park.  “Community Eco-Enviro Workshop” will be presented Thursday, March 28 from 1-3pm by Steve Pettis of the NC Extension Service.  Learn about:

We Bowled for Kids’ Sake

Somersby Park Rangers was recognized in Saturday’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake for the team that raised the most money.  Organizers quoted  “This group of people are steadfast supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters and we appreciate them so much.”  The total amount from our neighborhood reached $1,115 with funds coming in from many donors.  The Somersby Park logo was predominantly visible on the thank you sponsors board located inside Tarheel Lanes.

Somersby Park residents and former residents have been volunteers for BBBS for years. Our neighborhood has made a difference in many lives throughout the years and will continue to do so thanks to the generosity of Somersby Park friends.

Hungry Men

A hearty group gathers regularly for good food and fellowship. The men of Somersby Park mix it up and feast at several locations across the area every two weeks. This stop recently found everyone happy at the Hendersonville County Club for a delicious breakfast.
