Helping the Community
What an Entrance
Thanks to David, Ben and Jon for bringing back the shine to our gates. These dedicated neighbors used a little elbow grease and cleaned off the accumulated lichen, moss and dirt. They used mild detergent and water scrubbing with soft brushes and sponge. They even had to haul 27 gallons of water to tackle the back gate. Such an act of dedication and kindness is another example of caring Somersby Park residents.

Getting Ready for Picnics
As part of planned community improvement projects, several members of the Common Area Committee took advantage of the recent warm weather to assemble a second picnic table for community gatherings and picnics at the ponds. These tables are hefty and durable and should serve the community for many years to come. As warmer spring weather arrives, residents and guests will be ready to try these out.

Sign Getting a Facelift
Work is underway to restore the beauty of the upper gate sign. Members of the Common Area Committee recently started the project. The before photos show weathered worn letters and discolored wood. After removal, volunteers installed three new backboards. The new letters are on order and will soon once again shine.

The State Acknowledges Somersby Park

Somersby Park has been awarded from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for 10 years of service to the Adopt A Highway program. Ron and team regularly tackle the stretch of Hebron Road from Jones Gap to Davis Mountain Road to clean up pounds of trash. Congratulations Somersby Park, we continue to lead the way in community service.
